What Palette Neat 0.3.0 Brings to the Table
-
High-Density Video AI: Run validated application profiles for 16, 24, and up to 48 simultaneous 720p video streams.
-
Broader Video and Camera Support: Native H.264, JPEG, and MJPEG decoding for RTSP and HTTP/HTTPS sources, plus first-class MIPI/libcamera input.
-
More Responsive and Reliable Pipelines: Under heavy workloads, Neat prioritizes the newest frames, balances processing fairly across streams, and improves buffer handling and shutdown reliability.
-
Expanded Vision and GenAI Workflows: Adds on-device SSD object-detection processing and full PyNeat integration with LLiMa for LLM, VLM, ASR, and graph-based GenAI applications. (GitHub)
-
Improved Neat SDK: SDK v2.1.2.3 adds offline installation bundles, browser-based SDK Code access, updated Neat components, and more reliable SDK-to-DevKit synchronization. (GitHub)
-
Stronger Insight Visualization: Insight v0.0.5 and v0.0.6 improve video and metadata synchronization, large-metadata delivery, and multi-viewer reliability. Insight also adds layouts for up to 48 video tiles across 80 addressable channels, along with improved media-import workflows. (GitHub)
-
More Repeatable CLI Workflows:
sima-cliv2.1.15 adds explicit SDK image selection with the--imageoption, helping make CI, scripted, and non-interactive SDK setup more predictable. (GitHub)
Dive Into the Release Notes
Palette Neat 0.3.0 is delivered as a coordinated set of components. Review the component-specific release notes for complete changes, installation guidance, and additional compatibility information:
Important Compatibility Note
Palette Neat 0.3.0 introduces Core C++ ABI version 3 (libsima_neat.so.3). Customers using native C++ applications or plugins must rebuild them against the v0.3.0 libraries.
Applications using the removed preview real-time graph APIs must migrate to the standard Graph::connect() and Graph::build() workflows. Existing RTSP H.264 applications remain source-compatible unless they use those preview APIs. Use the matching Neat 0.3.0 component set with Platform 2.1.2. Existing Insight settings will be migrated automatically. (GitHub)
