We’re excited to announce the latest updates for Palette v2.1, including our cumulative patch updates Palette v2.1.1 and Palette v2.1.2!

Palette v2.1 introduces the Model Executor framework for flexible, high-performance inference across diverse model types and input modalities, and expands GenAI runtime support with LFM2 and Qwen VL.

Model Executor

  • Versatile Model Support: Supports 10X and Non-10X models with multiple input types: Video/Image, Audio, and Text.
  • Execution Flexibility: Sequential and async multi-model execution.
  • API Integration: GStreamer, C++ API, and Python API integration with Generic Pre-Proc and GenericBoxDecoder support.

GenAI & Platform

  • New GenAI Runtimes: Support for LFM2 and Qwen VL on the SiMa.ai Modalix platform.
  • OS & Kernel Upgrades: Linux Kernel 6.18 and Ubuntu 24.04 support for SDK and PCIe host driver.
  • Hardware Optimization: 16 GB SOM support, low power mode, and secure boot.
  • Simplified Optimization: Automatic Graph Surgery for simplified model optimization.

Hardware & Sensors

  • Expanded MIPI Camera Support: Includes IMX568, IMX477, IMX678, AR234, and OG05C10.
  • ROS Rover Testing: Integrated with RTABMAP and Cartographer SLAM, NAV2 navigation, and USB Camera pipelines.

Following our major v2.1 launch, this update brings critical platform enhancements, expanded hardware ecosystem flexibility, and blazing-fast performance benchmarks for YOLOX pipelines.

High-Performance YOLOX Pipelines

  • YOLOX Object Detection: Fully optimized pipeline support delivering up to 490 FPS on single-channel inference, and up to 45 FPS per channel across 16 channels.
  • YOLOX Instance Segmentation: Blazing-fast edge performance reaching up to 540 FPS on single-channel inference, and up to 50 FPS per channel across 16 channels.

Hardware & Sensor Expansion

  • Advanced Camera Integration: Added support for the e-con Systems IMX568 camera.
  • Connect Tech Ecosystem: Expanded camera peripheral support for Connect Tech boards.
  • Flexible Memory Options: Introduced support for 8GB SOM single LPDDR5 configurations to better optimize your hardware footprint.

Platform & Infrastructure Updates

  • Windows Host Support: Enabled Windows PCIe driver support for Palette v2.1.1, expanding deployment flexibility beyond Linux hosts.
  • Enhanced Link Stability: Updated PCIe PHY firmware to deliver improved performance and robust interface stability.

:hammer_and_wrench: Patch Release: Palette v2.1.2 — June 6th, 2026

Palette v2.1.2 introduces expanded hardware support, enhanced SDK and pipeline capabilities, improved GenAI functionality, and multiple stability and performance improvements across the SiMa.ai software stack. This release also includes updated firmware, SDK packages, and known issue resolutions.

Video Platform

  • Expanded Camera Support (GA): Added support for four AR0234 cameras on the Leopard Imaging carrier board.

  • Network Resolution (GA): Fixed an issue where systemd-networkd was unintentionally enabled after an upgrade.
